The Quality Assurance Rules of Procedure defines the University of Primorska’s internal quality assurance system, which includes procedures for data collection and analysis, as well as quality assessments of all university activities, the responsibilities of individual stakeholders, key quality-related documents, and measures for monitoring and continuously improving the quality of the university’s operations. The first set of rules was adopted in 2015 and subsequently updated in 2019. Due to the university’s development, evolving social factors, European Union guidelines, and the growing importance of ESG standards (environmental, social, and governance), the University of Primorska has adopted new Quality Rules of Procedure to strengthen responsible, sustainable, and high-quality operations across all areas of its activities. The Senate UP adopted the new Quality Assurance Rules of Procedure of the University of Primorska at its 27th regular session on 21 January 2026.
Since its establishment in 2003, the University of Primorska has been actively engaged in discussions and initiatives related to quality assurance. Individual member institutions, many of which have been operating for a decade or more, have developed various quality monitoring and assurance mechanisms over time. The University systematically integrates these diverse perspectives and activities through continuous dialogue and coordination, bringing them together within a unified quality assurance system that supports the developmental needs and strategic vision of a young and evolving university. More information on quality development at the University of Primorska is available here.
The Rules of Procedure define the fundamental processes in the area of quality assurance, while the Rules on Self-Evaluation of the University of Primorska describe in greater detail the procedures involved in the self-evaluation process, taking into account relevant laws, regulations, and recommendations issued by bodies responsible for ensuring the quality of higher education at the national and international levels. Similarly, evaluation in the field of scientific research is conducted in accordance with the ZZrID.
