Application procedure for the Academic Year 2019/2020
Orientation days 2019 for International students: 27 September - 1 October 2019
First/Winter semester 2019/2020: 1 October 2019 - 17 January 2020.
The exam period begins on 20 January and ends on 14 February 2020.
Orientation days 2020 for International students: 13 February - 14 February 2020.
Second/Spring semester 2019/2020: 17 February - 29 May 2020.
The exam period begins on 1 June and ends on 3 July 2020.
The following procedure applies for incoming students who would like to undertake the exchange period at the University of Primorska within
• Erasmus + student mobility for studies
• Erasmus+ student mobility for traineeships
• Programme CEEPUS*
• Exchange within interstate agreement (BILATERAL)*
• Exchange within interuniversity agreement
• Exchange within Erasmus Mundus
• FREE-MOVER exchange students
• OTHER STUDENT MOBILITY (for exchange mobility within other mobility schemes not mentioned above)

Foreign students that wish to study at the University of Primorska as regular students shall visit the Admission Office site.
ON-LINE APPLICATION PROCEDURE
In order to apply for the exchange mobility at our university you need to submit the application form. You need to register first in the online application tool available at web link:
After the registration, you will be guided further within the application tool to complete the application procedure and upload the necessary documents.
Within the application procedure the student should:
(The photo should be in .jpg/pdf./.bmp format in color. The size of the photo must exceed 35x45mm with resolution greater than 300 dpi (min. 400x503 pixels). The photoshould be a clear image without any marks, as the one for the purpose of the issue of a personal document. Furthermore, it must apply to standards for biometrical processing.)
In case the student needs to apply for a visa/temporary residence permit in order to entry the Republic of Slovenia, they should submit with the application form also the form STATEMENT: Student's Statement for the issue of the CERTIFICATE OF ACCEPTANCE TO AN EXCHANGE PROGRAMME – the student finds the form in the section FORM TEMPLATES in the application tool.
After submitting the application form, the student can also fill in the section INFORMATION ON HOUSING for accommodation placement.
All the steps have to be completed by the set deadline.
CEEPUS INCOMING STUDENTS
CEEPUS is an acronym for “Central European Exchange Program for University Studies”. Current member countries are: Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, the Slovak Republic and Slovenia. Prishtina/Kosovo is also participating.
CEEPUS is based on “networks”. A “network” is established when min. 3 universities connect and establish a specific “network”. There are 2 types of students: Mobility (in the “network”) and Free-movers (outside “networks”).
The CEEPUS programme supports scholarships to individuals within approved network of major higher education institutions from different participating countries which then exchange students and professors.
The application is on line at CEEPUS. For all the details and specifications you can ask your national agency that you find under a national flag at this web page. You can find the list of all eligible higher education institutions in Slovenia on the web page of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology.

You apply within the set deadline online at CEEPUS. Additionally, you should also submit the online application form to the University of Primorska.
BILATERAL SCHOLARSHIPS INCOMING STUDENTS
Slovenian Government announces a limited number of scholarships for exchange of foreign students annually. These scholarships are based on the signed agreement on cooperation in the field of education between Slovenian Government and foreign Government.
For application please check the web page of the Slovene national agency CMEPIUS:http://www2.cmepius.si/en/higher-education/bilateral_s.aspx, where more information regarding the application procedure, residence permit, health insurance, accommodation are also available within the Bilateral Scholarships exchange scheme.
You apply within the set deadline to Bilateral Scholarships exchange scheme and also submit the online application form to the University of Primorska.
FREE-MOVER EXCHANGE STUDENTS
Free-mover students are students of foreign universities who wish to study as exchange students at the University of Primorska outside the existing mobility programs.
Faculties charge students the expenses related to their exchange in accordance with their current price lists.
The duration of exchange period of the free-mover student is maximum two semesters. For prolongation the approval of the faculty is obligatory.
Free-mover students shall pay all travel, accommodation and other expenses related to their stay in the Republic of Slovenia during their exchange period.
– Establishment of personal registration number (EMŠO)
For the purpose of your registration at registration office you will also need:
– European health insurance
Please make sure that it is valid through all duration of your stay in Slovenia.
– Declaration of sufficient means of subsistence in Slovenia in a monthly amount at least equal to the basic minimal income: 392,75 € per month, throughout the duration of your studies in Slovenia. If the means of subsistence is lower than basic minimal income you will need some possible proof:
a) notirized statement from your parents, if they have to support you by the law of your country – relevant for:
– students from BIH, SRB, MNE, Kosovo, if you are younger than 26 years
– students from Turkey and Albania, if you are younger than 25
– students from Ukraine, if you are younger than 23
(all other students have to prove that they actually have the funds – a change from last year!)
b) bank statements for the last 6 funds proving sufficient funds or regular income (have to originals / confirmed from the bank branch and of course translated to Slovenian by court appointed translator)
c) confirmation that you are receiving a scholarship of sufficient amount; similar confirmation proving you are receiving regular income (again, translated to Slovenian by court appointed translator).
– Copy of the accommodation contract – you will get it at your arrival from your landlord.
– Copy of personal document (ID or passport)
– 2 original photos (dimension 3,5 cm wide and 4,5 cm high).

Students have to follow the first information package they receive by email after the application procedure.
