Simon Kerma, PhD, is a geographer and sociologist of culture. He has been employed at the University of Primorska since 2004 (and at the Faculty of Tourism Studies – Turistica since 2011). His teaching and research areas include sustainable tourism, ecotourism and tourism in protected areas, wine and culinary tourism, and rural tourism development. He is the (co-)editor of several professional and scientific monographs and the (co-)author of numerous scientific contributions published in national and international scientific publications. He has participated in the organisation of several national and international scientific conferences and summer schools. Between 2017 and 2021, he served as Head of the Department of Cultural Tourism, and he is currently serving his third consecutive term (since 2017) as a member of the Faculty Senate.
