Helena Nemec Rudež is Full Professor at University of Primorska, Faculty of Tourism Studies – Turistica. After election into Full Professor position she held inaugural lecture entitled “Income elasticity of tourism demand: old findings and new research” on June 21, 2017 at University of Primorska.
After Gymnasium she enrolled at Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana, where she later took her Bachelor degree, Master degree and Ph. degree. In 2004 she completed her doctoral dissertation entitled Intellectual capital in Slovenian tourism companies under the mentorship of Professor Tanja Mihalič and Professor Bogomir Kovač. Her teaching courses as well as her research interests include tourism marketing and tourism economics. Helena Nemec Rudež holds also lectures at the student international exchange program Erasmus. She has authored many scientific papers and books in the field of tourism. In 2015 she received award for her research work by UP FTŠ Turistica. Between 2009 and 2017, she was Head of Chair for Tourism enterprises management and Head of Chair for development and marketing of tourism services; from then on she can again fully focus on her research work and teaching. During 2011 and 2019 she is a member of the Senate of University of Primorska.
