  • Turistica hosted dr. Nemanja Šarenac from Sarajevo

During the past two weeks, we hosted doc. dr. Nemanja Šarenac from the University of East Sarajevo. He was hosted by dr. Šuligoj and together they prepared a theoretical framework and instructions for authors for the thematic proceedings of manuscripts on the transition and development of tourism after the breakup of the SFR Yugoslavia. So far, the topic has been discussed very sporadically and from the point of view of each post-Yugoslav country separately, but no comparative longitudinal analysis of the economic indicators of tourism development in this part of Europe has been made. The authors, who are also the editors of the proceedings, want to fill this void. Dr. Šarenac is the editor of the journal The Proceedings of the Faculty of Economics in East Sarajevo - Journal of Economics and Business at his home faculty, so he also met Dr. Sedmak, who is the editor-in-chief of Academica Turistica - Tourism and Innovation Journal.

Within his visit, just during the exam period, Dr. Šarenac also had the opportunity to observe the exam process at UP FTŠ Turistica and to exchange experiences and views with the host. During the exchange, he also managed to get to know Portorož and Piran as tourism destinations, which are still quite lively during the off-season. The international office of Turistica took care of the well-being and all the formalities.

Dr. Nemanja Šarenac is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Economics of the University of East Sarajevo, and a member of the Department of Hotel Management and Tourism. He is also a member of the editorial board of the in-house scientific journal, a lecturer at lifelong learning courses and a member of the working group for the implementation of student internships at the faculty.
