ŠtartUP - For a perfect start of the academic year

ŠtartUP – a sporty and social start to the academic year 25/26 for all UP students

The University of Primorska invites all its students – all levels and years of study – to the ŠtartUP – sport and social event, which marks the beginning of the new academic year.

WHEN? Saturday, October 4, 2025 | 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
WHERE? Žusterna Seaside Park, Koper

The event offers an opportunity for learning, networking and socializing. More than 50 local associations, institutions, organizations and companies will present themselves and offer entertaining and interactive activities at their stands.

When you register on the day of the event, you will receive a stamp collection card. By successfully completing activities at the stands, you will collect stamps – and for the number of stamps you collect, you will receive a practical promotional gift.

The location is perfect for relaxing in the sun, so bring a picnic blanket or beach towel. Lunch and coffee will be provided for registered participants.

REGISTRATION ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT

On the day of the event, we will first meet at the registration desk, where you will receive:

  • a temporary StartUP / OpenUP tattoo (representing your accreditation for the event);
  • Newly enrolled students (freshmen) will receive a brand new OpenUP t-shirt (*Important: you can only receive the t-shirt at the StartUP event, there is no collection of t-shirts at a later date);
  • a stamp collection card (It contains the logos of all exhibitors. The system of the event is that you receive a stamp at the exhibitors' stands when you have successfully completed an activity. For a sufficient number of stamps, you will receive a small promotional gift at the end).

    


SUSTAINABILITY

As we support sustainability, we encourage our visitors to bring:

  • water bottles (flask/bidon), as there will be drinking fountains from Rižanski vodovod for hydration;
  • and a container for lunch/lunch boxes (to take food home if there is any left over).
