Tilen Nipič is a teaching assistant and researcher at the University of Primorska, Faculty of Tourism Studies – Turistica. He completed his undergraduate and master’s degrees in tourism at the faculty and is currently undertaking a master’s programme in biopsychology. In his research, he takes an interdisciplinary approach, combining tourism studies with psychology and biopsychology, particularly in his research into motivations for travel, modern pilgrimages, hospitality, tour guiding and the involvement of young people in tourism. He is the author and co-author of academic, professional and popular articles, and presents his research at national and international conferences.
In the past, as a student, he participated in various projects and programmes (FinLit, EYE 2021, PKP, PUŠ, Smart Tourism Hackathon, MITdesignX Venice, SmartDest Innovation Camp, Erasmus+ KIP, Shanghai Summer School 2025, etc.). As a researcher, he has primarily been involved in the creation of strategic tourism development documents (for the municipalities and destinations of Piran and Bled, the destination of Dolina Soče, the destination of Podčetrtek and Kozje), as well as other projects and programmes (e.g. CRP).
He is active in the local community, where he is a member of the tourism and mountaineering associations, and in the fields of youth tourism and volunteering.
