Petra Zabukovec Baruca is an Assistant Professor of Social Sciences and Humanities in Tourism at the Faculty of Tourism Studies - Turistica, University of Primorska. She graduated at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, Department of Marketing Communications. She obtained her Master's degree from the Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana, in 2009 and her PhD from the Interdisciplinary Doctoral Programme in Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, in 2017.
Her main research interests are marketing, marketing communications, tourism destinations and quality management in the hospitality industry. Her research and teaching activities are based on more than ten years of professional experience in the hospitality industry. She has been managing public relations, marketing communications and quality management as the Director of Corporate Communications and Marketing in the company Hoteli Bernardin,d.d.
