The Faculty of Tourism Studies Turistica is introducing a renewed study program, Tourism Enterprise Management (TEM), which will be available starting from the academic year 2025/26. This program, one of the core offerings of UP FTŠ Turistica, has been updated based on a thorough analysis of stakeholder needs and tourism trends, and enhanced by incorporating contemporary topics such as sustainable tourism, digitalization, and interdisciplinary practices.
The program is designed to provide students with broad and in-depth knowledge, primarily but not exclusively in business studies, while also enabling them to acquire specific skills essential for their career paths. The curriculum begins with foundational courses and transitions to more specialized topics in the later years. Through fieldwork and, particularly, professional placement, students gain hands-on experience in real-world environments where they can refine their knowledge and develop essential skills. Additionally, elective courses allow students to specialize further in areas of interest. This structure facilitates continuous knowledge development, which is crucial for understanding the breadth of the discipline and achieving success in chosen professions.
The curriculum is internally diverse yet balanced across disciplines, with a focus on the dominance of business and organizational content. The renewal emphasizes:
- A practical orientation with an even greater focus on fieldwork and collaboration with the industry,
- Alignment with international guidelines (UNWTO, European Commission),
- Updated competencies that address the needs of the modern tourism market.
The renewed program will further enhance the competitiveness and reputation of the faculty within both academic and professional environments.
