In 2018 members of the Department of Cultural Tourism carried out field visits and meetings with major stakeholders, related to UNESCO units of global tangible heritage in Slovenia: the Škocjanske jame caves, the pile dwellings on Ljubljana Marshes, the heritage of mercury in Idrija, the forest reserves of old and original beech forests in the Krokar primeval forest and the Snežnik-Ždrocle forest.

The goal of the field research was to compare the inclusion of the UNESCO locations into Slovenia’s tourist offer from various points of views; interpretation, communication, imaginaries construction and other relative observations.
