TURISTICA AT THE EMCUP IN MAASTRICHT
On Sunday 4 February and Monday 5 February, a team of students and two mentors from UP FTŠ - Turistica participated in the EMCup - European Mise en Place Cup in Maastricht as part of the Green, Digital and Inclusive University of Primorska (GDI UP) project. The EMCup is an annual competition between the best European hotel and tourism management schools, where international students have the opportunity to shape the future of this dynamic industry. The 16th edition, which focused on the use of artificial intelligence to support the transition to sustainability and create added value, was a great opportunity for learning, sharing and, above all, networking with representatives of leading hotel chains such as Marriot, Hilton, Accor, Radisson, etc. The student teams presented a number of innovative ideas. We would like to thank UP and the GDI project for making it possible for the students to travel and participate in the competition, and the other participants for such memorable moments, as well as the EMCup organisation for organising this amazing weekend and taking excellent care of our team from the UP Faculty of Tourism Studies. The students returned from the event strengthened with new acquaintances and offers of internships and jobs with international hotel chains, and the mentors strengthened with the knowledge that we at the UP FTŠ can compete on an equal footing with the most prestigious names in tourism higher education in Europe.
