On December 12, first-year students of the university-level Tourism program, under the mentorship of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Metod Šuligoj and lecturer Peter Kopić, participated in a field trip to the Youth, Culture, and Tourism Institute of Koper. There, they gained in-depth insight into the operations of the Koper Tourism Organization.
Led by the Head of the Tourism Department, Mr. Peter Žudić, the students toured the Pretorian Palace, the former seat of the city’s rulers, which today serves as an important protocol venue and city hall. In the palace's council chamber, the students were introduced to the organizational structure and operations of the Koper Tourism Organization, the planning of local events, collaboration with tourism providers and stakeholders, and the development of sustainable tourism under the Green Scheme of Slovenian Tourism.
The fieldwork continued with analytical and research tasks in the old town center of Koper, where students explored the city's cultural heritage and deepened their knowledge of its tourism offerings.
