Study Trip: Berlin – ITB Fair

Last week (March 2 – March 8, 2025), 46 students from UP FTŠ Turistica participated in a professional excursion to Berlin after a two-year break. The main purpose of the trip was to attend ITB, the world's largest tourism trade fair.

The primary goal of the excursion was to gain hands-on experience in a real-world setting—whether through organizing a travel package, which students fully managed as part of the Fundamentals of Travel Activities course, or by exploring the vast tourism industry, networking, and engaging in various activities at the fair. Observation also played a crucial role in the learning process. The students took advantage of the journey to make several intermediate stops and meet with various tourism representatives. In Český Krumlov, they listened to representatives of South Bohemian Tourism, while in Prague, they met with Czech tourism officials and were welcomed by Michal Kůra, the director of the Slovenian Center in Prague. A longer stop, including a guided city tour, took place in Dresden, followed by an extensive visit to Berlin.

The students were accompanied on the trip by mag. Igor Novel and assistant Tadej Rogelja, mag.
