On Friday, 23 January 2026, in Ljubljana, UP FTŠ Turistica and the Slovenian Police signed a general cooperation agreement, strengthening their partnership in the field of research and other development activities.
Turistica has been successfully cooperating with the Slovenian Police since 2007. Upon request, the Police provides access to statistical data, which Turistica uses for research purposes; primarily in the field of tourism safety and security. This long-standing cooperation has provided a strong foundation for taking the next step forward by signing an agreement that reinforces our shared interest in research, education, training, and cooperation.
The agreement was signed by Damjan Petrič, MSc, Director General of the Police, and Assoc. Prof. Emil Juvan, PhD, Dean of UP FTS Turistica.
The purpose of the agreement is to integrate Police statistical data into a broader scientific research framework, enabling a deeper understanding of challenges and opportunities in the field of tourism safety and security, and contributing to the development of professional and practical solutions. The agreement also opens additional opportunities for cooperation in research projects, education and training activities, as well as scientific and professional publications.
We look forward to further joint steps and results that will be important both for the research community and professional practice.
