  • Faces of Tourism with Mitja Jus: The Added Value in Slovenia Is Greater Than in Developed Destinations

Faces of Tourism (Obrazi turizma) is a podcast created within the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Faculty of Tourism Studies – Turistica, University of Primorska. It reveals the stories and experiences of experts and dedicated professionals from the tourism industry. Guests share behind-the-scenes insights into this dynamic field that connects people, cultures, and places. Each episode offers a unique perspective on the world of tourism through personal narratives and valuable experiences.

Mitja Jus, co-owner of the company Roundabout, says that tourism called to him. From working as a tour guide in his younger years, to creating packages for backpackers in Slovenia, to now offering weddings, yacht rentals, and luxury trips. They are very focused on the American market and are an excellent example of how to collaborate with competitors instead of stepping on each other’s toes. Why? Because for the guest, the quality of service is what matters most. Who is considered competition, what makes a picnic in the vineyard special, and how to balance private and business life — you can find out by listening to the Faces of Tourism podcast.

The podcast is hosted by student Ana Šenk.

The conversation was organized as part of the project Green, Digital and Inclusive University of Primorska (GDI UP).
