Mentor Day at Turistica – Together for the Quality of Student Internships

Portorož, 29 October 2025 – Today, the Faculty of Tourism Studies Turistica hosted mentors and representatives of employers who enable our students to carry out their professional internships. This year’s event is particularly significant, as in 2025 Turistica celebrates its 30th anniversary – a milestone that invites reflection on past cooperation with the industry and consideration of how to further enhance this partnership in the future.

The Mentor Day programme included welcome remarks by the faculty dean, an opening lecture on the current state and role of internships at Turistica, and a workshop dedicated to evaluating the cooperation – its challenges, opportunities and mentors’ expectations in practice. The event concluded with networking over refreshments and informal exchange of experiences.

Cooperation with mentors from the industry is a key part of our study process. With today’s meeting, we further strengthened partnerships that provide our students with high-quality, authentic learning experiences in tourism and outlined the future direction of the mentoring programme in the spirit of professional growth and responsible shaping of the future of the profession.
