UP FTŠ Turistica, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, hosted a guest lecture by Prof. Dr. Kaye Chon, an outstanding expert in the field of tourism and hospitality and a global ambassador of quality tourism education. His lecture on "Innovations and Leadership in Hospitality and Tourism" provided an exceptional knowledge to staff, students and the interested public.
Prof. Kaye Chon is currently Dean and Chair Professor at the School of Hotel and Tourism Management, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, which has been ranked the world's number one institution in tourism education for the eighth consecutive year on the prestigious Shanghai Ranking (the univeristy raks 151 and 200). His work has made a significant impact on both the academic and practical development of tourism. He has over 40 years of experience in hospitality, tourism, and academia. Prof. Chon is also the Editor-in-Chief of two renowned academic journals and a recipient of the prestigious UNWTO Ulysses Prize for lifetime achievement in tourism, often referred to as the "Nobel Prize in Tourism."
Before the lecture itself, an agreement on cooperation in the fields of research and education was also signed between the Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s School of Hotel and Tourism Management and the University of Primorska Faculty of Tourism Studies – Turistica.
