Faces of Tourism (Obrazi turizma) is a podcast created within the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Faculty of Tourism Studies – Turistica, University of Primorska. It reveals the stories and experiences of experts and dedicated professionals from the tourism industry. Guests share behind-the-scenes insights into this dynamic field that connects people, cultures, and places. Each episode offers a unique perspective on the world of tourism through personal narratives and valuable experiences.
Dubravka Kalin’s childhood dream was to become a hotel manager. With experience in tour guiding and leading a local tourist organization, she has worked her way up to become the Director of the Tourism Directorate at the Ministry of the Economy, Tourism and Sport of the Republic of Slovenia. And all of that experience is proving invaluable today. The Directorate is responsible for implementing the national tourism strategy, overseeing major projects, drafting legislative frameworks, and actively participating in the Tourism Committees of both the OECD and UN Tourism. This academic year, the Faculty of Tourism sent its first student to the Directorate for mandatory study placement. Curious why her favorite object is “a single piece” of old paper?
