On Wednesday, 19 February, between 11:00 and 12:30, the event Erasmus – More Than an Exchange took place in Lecture Room 201 and in the first-floor hall, organised by the International Office of UP FTŠ Turistica. The event was open to all students interested in Erasmus mobility who wished to learn more about study-abroad opportunities, the application process, and participants’ experiences.
The opening address was delivered by Vice-Dean Prof. Dr. Tadeja Jere Jakulin, followed by a lecture by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Miha Lesjak, who presented the Erasmus exchange as a holistic experience that goes beyond studying abroad. He highlighted the motivations behind students’ decisions to participate in mobility programmes and emphasised their impact on personal and professional development.
Žiga Leban from the International Office of the University of Primorska then introduced general information about the Erasmus+ programme and the current call for ERASMUS KA131 study exchanges. Together with Sara Nadarević, Erasmus Coordinator at UP FTŠ Turistica, they presented five simple steps for a successful application.
The event was enriched by a video message from student Monika Črep, who is currently on exchange at Technological University Dublin in Ireland. In her presentation, she shared her motivation for going abroad, described her study experience, everyday Erasmus student life, and the benefits of international mobility.
After the official programme, students were invited to the opening of the Erasmus exhibition in the first-floor lobby, where they could obtain additional information about destinations, previous participants’ experiences, and the competences gained through mobility. The event concluded with informal networking and light refreshments.
