Ambassador of Excellence Project Presented at Career Day
On 15 April 2026, the Faculty of Tourism Studies – Turistica presented the PUŠ project Ambassador of Excellence as part of its Career Day. The project is carried out in cooperation with the hotel company Istrabenz Turizem, under the brand LifeClass Hotels & Spa. The presentation was embedded within the broader context of the Career Day themed “Tourism beyond traditional frameworks,” with a focus on modern approaches to human resource development in tourism.
The presentation highlighted a partnership model between the faculty and the tourism industry, based on actively linking the study process with real work environments. The Ambassador of Excellence project emphasises the importance of young people as key future professionals in tourism. The central part of the presentation took the form of a content-based interview with the Director of Accommodation at LifeClass, Katja Boškin, conducted by Ana Šenk. The discussion clearly outlined the purpose and objectives of the project, which focus on developing onboarding programmes for new employees, with particular emphasis on young people as the incoming workforce. Special attention is given to the role of the Ambassador of Excellence as a workplace mentor, responsible for transferring knowledge, organisational culture, and company standards to new employees.
A key added value of the project lies in the active role of students, who are not merely observers but co-creators of solutions within a real project environment. This enables them to gain direct experience, develop competencies, and better understand employers’ expectations. The Ambassador of Excellence project thus represents a best-practice example of collaboration between academia and industry, and marks an important step towards the systematic development and employment of high-quality professionals in tourism.
