In the Year of the Poet Srečko Kosovel and on the occasion of World Tourism Day, the Department of Cultural Tourism at UP FTŠ Turistica invites you to discover photographs of the Karst – Kosovel’s homeland and intimate landscape – through the lens of photographer Rafael Marn, and to take a walk with the “little coat of words” in which the poet was wrapped. Hidden within this coat was a “warm, bright world” – a desire, a vision, a destiny, a path, a stone. The photographs and Kosovel’s words invite visitors to connect them in their own way and, through images of the Karst and poetry, create a coat of their own, one that “is like no other”.
The exhibition
Imagining the Karst through Image and Word
will open on Friday, 16 October 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Turistica Lobby, Obala 11a, Portorož.
The exhibition will be on diplay until the end of 2026.
Rafael Marn was a Slovenian photographer and photojournalist who established himself across various fields of photography during more than two decades of professional work. His photographs were published in numerous Slovenian newspapers and magazines, and he also contributed photographic work to several monographic publications.
