What is an OLA?
OLA stands for Online Learning Agreement, which is the study plan agreed upon by the student, the home institution, and the host institution.
Must the OLA be completed electronically, or can it be filled out by hand, considering that the application form had to be electronic?
Only online applications are accepted.
Who is the contact person and who is the responsible person at UP FTŠ Turistica?
The contact persons are Milica Tokalić and Sara Nadarević (international@fts.upr.si). The responsible person is the Dean.
Address:
University of Primorska, Faculty of Tourism Studies – Turistica
Obala 11a
SI-6320 Portorož

What is the Erasmus code of the University of Primorska?
ERASMUS CODE UP: SI KOPER 03
The application form and Learning Agreement require a “subject code.” What should I enter?
UP FTŠ Turistica does not use subject codes. However, if courses at the host university have course codes, write the code before the course title.
Where can I obtain the “Transcript of Records issued by the home university”?
If requested by the host university, this refers to your academic transcript, which can be obtained from the Student Affairs Office of UP FTŠ Turistica.
What is “Proof of English Language Skills (not applicable for native speakers and students of universities where English is the language of instruction),” and where can I obtain it?
This is evidence of your English language proficiency. Your Transcript of Records (ToR) may serve as proof if it shows successful completion of English language courses.
If you have not completed any English language courses, you should provide another form of evidence, such as:
- A secondary school transcript showing English language grades;
- An external language certificate confirming your level of proficiency;
- A certificate obtained through the OLS (Online Language Support) platform, about which you will be informed by the University of Primorska.
Where can I find Erasmus+ mobility documentation (application form, Learning Agreement, report, etc.)?
The required forms are usually provided by the UP FTŠ Turistica coordinator. Examples of forms and certificates can also be found in the International Exchanges section of the e-learning platform.
Which documents must I submit to the UP FTŠ Turistica International Office before departure?
Please read the instructions in the e-learning platform carefully.
Before departure, you must submit:
- The course recognition agreement and course syllabi by email to the International Office;
- A completed and signed Learning Agreement (one original copy signed by you, UP FTŠ Turistica, and the host institution must be returned);
- A copy of the Letter of Acceptance (optional but recommended).
Failure to submit the required documents may affect your eligibility for Erasmus+ financial support.
Can I write my Bachelor's or Master's thesis abroad?
Yes, but before departure you must already have:
- An approved thesis proposal;
- An assigned supervisor at UP FTŠ Turistica.
You are responsible for checking whether the host institution accepts students for thesis work. Some institutions have restrictions, so this should be verified before applying for mobility.
I have completed all exams at UP FTŠ Turistica and will not need course recognition for courses completed at the host university. Do I still need to consult the programme coordinator?
Yes. You must still submit the proposed courses and their syllabi. Completed courses will be recorded in the Diploma Supplement. The courses must also be included in your Learning Agreement.
I am on exchange, but my request to progress to the next year of study was not approved (or I failed the academic year). Can I remain on or begin my Erasmus exchange?
For Erasmus+ mobility, the key requirement is that you maintain student status.
- If you still have student status, you may continue your mobility period.
- However, you remain responsible for fulfilling all obligations at UP FTŠ Turistica and coordinating with course instructors, particularly for compulsory activities such as practical classes.
How missed obligations can be made up is entirely at the discretion of the course instructors.
Any complications related to delayed recognition of courses, future curriculum changes, course modifications, instructor changes, or an extended study period are the student's responsibility.
If you lose your student status, you must inform us immediately. Mobility without student status is not eligible under Erasmus+.
I have arrived at the host university. Some courses listed in my OLA will not be offered (or the courses are different from what I expected). What should I do next?
Students may make changes to their Learning Agreement within the period specified by the host university (typically within 3–4 weeks after arrival).
It is extremely important that these changes are also approved by the Head of Department/academic coordinator at UP FTŠ Turistica.
The procedure is the same as when the original Learning Agreement was approved. All modifications must be recorded in the “Changes to the Learning Agreement” section.
The updated Learning Agreement must be signed by both:
- The host university; and
- UP FTŠ Turistica.
After changing my Learning Agreement (Changes to OLA), should I send it directly to the Head of Department?
Changes to the Learning Agreement must be approved by your coordinator. The student should send the Changes to the Learning Agreement for signature by post or by email to the International Office of Turistica.
Is it possible to extend the exchange to the second semester?
Yes. Students who are on exchange during the first semester may apply to extend their mobility for the second semester, provided that:
- The host university agrees to the extension; and
- Places are still available (this must be confirmed with the International Office).
Steps for extending your mobility:
- Contact the International Office at international@fts.upr.si.
- Check with the host university whether they are willing to host you for an additional semester.
- If the host institution agrees, contact the International Office.
- Inform the International Office of the University of Primorska about your intention to extend the mobility and obtain confirmation regarding Erasmus+ funding for the extended period.
- Prepare and submit all required documentation (e.g., Changes to the Learning Agreement, Application Form, and any other documents required by the host institution).
UP FTŠ Turistica requires a Changes to the Learning Agreement form, in which you add the second-semester courses and indicate Reason B2. Do not forget to coordinate the proposed courses with your academic coordinator beforehand.
