Gorazd Sedmak je inženir prometnih tehnologij, diplomirani ekonomist in doktor poslovno-organizacijskih ved. Zaposlen je kot izredni profesor in raziskovalec na UP FTŠ Turistici, kjer je na dodiplomskem študiju nosilec predmetov: Ekonomika turističnih podjetij, Trženjske raziskave v turizmu in Diplomski seminar; na podiplomskem študiju pa Destinacijski management, Valorizacija avtentičnosti v turizmu, Marketing dediščine v turizmu in Strateški management turističnih podjetij. Pred tem je bil od zaposlen v podjetju Lama d.d. kot vodja prodajnih področij Vzhodna Evropa in Skandinavija in v podjetju Primorski tisk d.d. kot pomočnik direktorja za marketing. Njegova raziskovalna in strokovna dejavnost je usmerjena na področja poslovanja turističnih podjetij, destinacijskega managementa, trženja dediščine in valorizacije avtentičnosti v turizmu. Sodeloval je pri več mednarodnih projektih s področja razvoja novih turističnih proizvodov. Je glavni urednik znanstvene revije Academica turistica – Tourism and Innovation Journal in recenzent pri nekaterih priznanih mednarodnih in domačih revijah ter konferencah (Annals of Tourism Research, Tourism and Hospitality Research, ANNALES – Anali za istrske in mediteranske študije – Series historia et sociologia,  Advances in Tourism Marketing Conference).

 

Gorazd Sedmak is an associate professor and research associate in the field of business management in tourism at the University of Primorska, Faculty of Tourism Studies – Turistica, holding bachelor degrees in economics and transport technologies, a MSc in economics, and a Ph.D. in the field of business and organisation. His dissertation dealt with the authenticity in tourism. He previously worked in the Lama d.d. company as an international sales officer and in the Primorski tisk d.d. company as an associate marketing manager. His academic career focuses on tourism enterprises operation, destination management, heritage marketing and valorisation of authenticity in tourism. He worked on several international projects dealing with tourism product development, destination competitiveness and tourism market analysis. He is the editor in chief of the scientific journal Academica Turistica – Tourism and Innovation Journal and peer reviewer at internationally acknowledged journals and conferences: Annals of Tourism Research, Tourism and Hospitality Research, Annales for Istrian and Mediterranean studies, Series historia et sociologia, Academica turistica, Advances in tourism marketing conference (ATMC).
